little HELP! Guys..

hi guys ..i'm irilias ..new user of the LUNIX OS ..i've been using it for about month and half..
i'm used to WIN XP OS..:lol:
i can't realy figure out how to find a good DOWNLOAD MANAGER ..and may be a FIREWALL..:(
..i did find some DOWNLOAD MANAGERs like : doka , carlos-downloader.. as a TARBALL files..
BUT some errors appear while the installation process :mad:

Keep in mind that rather than installing from source, it's better to use your default package tool for installing them whenever possible.

Which Linux distro/version are you using? I have used KGet in KDE based distros.
