Mozilla Firebird

Has anyone used Mozilla firebird? From what they (Mozilla) say, it supposed to be faster and more optimized than Mozilla.

I'm using it right now. It is a bit faster, both load time and actual use. If you don't use all the features regular mozilla has I'd recommend it.

Is it faster? In Windows, I didn't see any difference. As long as it is faster, I'll make the switch since I think that Mozilla is one of the slowest browsers I've used.

I tried it a bit, and I noticed very little difference. Since it doesn't seem to have Mozilla's PSM security framework, which I love, I stopped using it almost immediately.

They left out the security features? I'd say that's a pretty important feature. I'm still in search of a fast browser in Linux. If anyone has suggestions, please let me know.

I don't think that they left it out, but just restructured it. To be honest, I didn't check it out too closely, so I shan't say anything rash. That was the idea that I got from the config box, though.

How important is PSM?

skipstone is not a bad browser althoguh i just use konqueror tbh

PSM might not really be that important, but I really like it.

I haven't heard of skipstone. I was going to try epiphany, but it seemed to require a newer version of libbonoboui than I had, and upgrading that probably means upgrading more or less every core GNOME component. I'll see if I will continue down that road.

incidently, what do use as file browser? (i bet dolda uses that bloody Emacs;))
