I have been testing my debian etch and adding all the packages and games. Some of them (specifically OpenGL related games) are moving very slowly. I have an nVidia GeForce 6600 and was wondering if there was any way I could accelerate OpenGL to make some of those games more playable. If this is in the wrong spot, I'm sorry. I tried to put this thread in the right place.
First you can apt-get the nvidia-kernel-2.6-686 from debian this is the current one or go to nVidia and download the nvidia-kernel and compile it in to the current kernel and your Open Gl should work.
But be aware that for every kernel update that comes out there may not be a nvidia kernel available.
Yeah, I checked and it shows that I do have the latest nvidia kernel, but the openGL Is still being laggy, and I have this package that comes with Debian called nvidia-settings or something and I have installed it, but not tried it.
