Openoffice.org: bullets and formatting

I'm having a problem with Format > bullets and numbering
I am editing a resume. I imported the document into Openoffice.
I highlighted the paragraphs one at a time and selected the
bullets I wanted (I selected the dots).
The document looked fine when I saved it.
When I opened the document and compared the paragraphs the bullets were
different sizes.

How can I fix this?

try removing the bullets, making sure the fonts are correct, and adding bullets again.
