WHICH PARTITION PROGRAM?
i was just wondering what might be the best way to go about doing the following:
create a ntsf or windows type (fat 32..etc) partition from mandrake 9
the reason for me wanting to do this is because there are a few games (freelancer) that i wish to play on windows, as well as a few movie and graphic utills.
To create a partition, use fdisk. To format it, use mkfs. There is no NTFS partitioning tool for Linux, though, since noone but Microsoft really knows how NTFS works.
if you hard drive is not partitioned, and you want to resize your linux partitions to create free space (I think this is what he is talking about?) use parted. look on freshmeat.net for parted, and READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. This program is dangerous, and if you use it on a mounted filesystem (stupid me), it will lose all your data:)
