Hello
Anyone knows or have to suggest application or tool for user password reset/change with self-service portal for Linux?
We are building an SFTP server and we wish to give the ability to (non-techie) users to reset/change their passwords. A web portal would be best.
We are looking for open-source or free solutions but any commercial suggestions are also welcome.

You probably want to use webmin.
Give users the the application called usermin, I have included a website for your review:

Maybe check out ZPanel. It's a fully featured panel, I'm not sure if you can do only ftp or not, but I know it does a bunch of stuff.
I think the best way to reset Windows password is to use the Windows password reset disk, you won’t lose any data in this way. So I do suggest you to burn a Windows password reset disk if you lost windows password(http:resetwindowspassword.net).

In addition, he stated that he wanted to use a portal. Webmin or Zpanel will give you the ability to perform password resets with portal features.
