A few weeks ago I decided to upgrade my motherboard BIOS and downloaded a new from gigabyte.eu. The file was a .exe file and I dont have a win system, so I sent a question so the support at gigabyte and asked why they did not use zip insted. They answerd that the file was a self extracting zip so it would not be any problem to just unzip it. So i tried to unzip but it dident work. So can anyone tell me if its possible to unzip this exe file?
(I got a zip from the support but they still say that the exe is possible to unzip under linux. But I just want to make clear that it IS possible)
Viewed a few exe files with file and the output was:
C51X.EXE: MS-DOS executable, MZ for MS-DOS, PKLITE compressed, ZIP self-extracting archive
Textdokument.exe: MS-DOS executable PE for MS Windows (GUI) Intel 80386 32-bit
alla.tar.bz2: bzip2 compressed data, block size = 900k
hejsan.zip: Zip archive data, at least v1.0 to extract
ma79xds4f6.zip: Zip archive data, at least v2.0 to extract
motherboard_bios_ga-ma790x-ds4_f6.exe: MS-DOS executable PE for MS Windows (GUI) Intel 80386 32-bit
unz552x3.exe: MS-DOS executable, MZ for MS-DOS, ZIP self-extracting archive
I was not able to extract the files with "MS-DOS executable PE for MS Windows (GUI)"
