update nautilus menu

Hi,
can any one tell me how to update nautilus context menu.....or tell me how to restart nautilus whether restarting nautilus will update its context menu

Sorry for the incomplete question...my question is

I had added a new extension to mime database take it for example *.edu

and then i had created a application test.desktop in /usr/share/applications
specifing the Mimetype=application/edu....but this is not working if i right click the .edu files
open with test. is not there
how to map the application to .edu files

should i restart nautilus?

and i got the answer for it.....
there is nothing to do with nautilus
i have to use the command "update-desktop-database"
