When i install some apps on terminal they dont show up on my application list, help!

hi guys, im new to linux, and i've been on the terminal installing some things.

some show up in my applications list, but others do not!

i've tried to centerim (apt-get install centerim) and it isnt on my app list even tho; it says
centerim is already the newest version.

any help appreciated!

Some apps do not show up in the menus especially command line apps (which I think centerim is). You either start them from the CLI or if you really need the apps in the menu, create your own menu entry.
