Now I use gdm to login as a user without problems PS: I cannot login with gdm as root __________________ Linux is like a Teepee, No Windows, No Gates, Only Apache Inside! I suspect you could run gdmsetup and enable root logins but I personally don't see any need for it since you can do admin tasks as root via your normal user account.

Remix_eyeballs Just Joined! Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: Middle of No Where. Posts: 27	I had this same problem. It seemed to be a problem with gnome, not Xorg. I had to reinstall, but I'm sure that there is a way to fix it. I'm interested in the answer.
