Fluxbox, xrender and applications

HI,

I have a couple of questions about fluxbox on arch

1.)How should I enable xrender extension in my xorg.conf?
xdpyinfo | grep RENDER returns xdpyinfo: unable to open display"".

2)I install packages e.g pacman -S firefox but then how do I make them work in fluxbox? I tried to edit an existing entry in the fluxbox menu file to (firefox) {firefox} but it did not work. What am I missing?

Thanks for any help

Your Firefox entry in your fluxbox apps menu should look like this:

Code:
[exec] (firefox) {firefox}
Make sure you are editing the entry in the hidden fluxbox folder found in your /home directory.
