How to install printer

Hi folks,

Archlinus 86-64 2007-08-2
Printer - HP Deskjet 5740

I have cups installed and running on the system. I'm unable to install the printer because the driver not found on adding printer. Please advise how to install the printer and where to get the driver. TIA

Besides cups does not start at boot. I have to run "/etc/rc.d/cups start" to evoke it. Please advise which file I have to edit to get cups started at boot.

HP drivers are provided by the hpijs and hplip packages. Try installing one of those packages, restart cups and then try to configure the printer again.

I'm not sure about the driver. I have a Canon printer but to get cups to start at boot, add it to your DAEMONS array in rc.conf.
