Exclamation Problem with Webcam

Hi I am running the latest version of arch linux. my kernel is 2.6.27. I have a logitech quickcam communicate stx and I can't seem to get it working even if I install the qc-usb or the qc-usb-messenger. I have also tried gspcav1 but that is already included by default. When I open an application like cheese or skype the webcam doesn't work. I already have added myself to the video group with instructions I got here

Could Anyone please help me on this?

First check whether your web cam is detected using dmsg | tail -10. If it is deteced start chees from cli to see what errors are printed. you can also have a look at this Linux-drivers.org - Linux Hardware Compatibility Lists & Linux Drivers for supported web cams.
