| What says the X log file? Does it shows any errors? Code: cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log | grep EE
And what is your video card model? Did you install the driver for it? And how?

If you want to use the free driver, then install the package "xserver-xorg-video-nv".

| sorry for waiting so long, have been pretty busy....
what is the command for exiting&saving in vim?
"pacman -Sy xserver-xorg-video-nv" doesnt work, so i tried switching to nvidia, but couldnt find it in xorgconfig, so i decided to try and run vim to change it and save it. but after i change it, i cant find the command to exit and save it. when i use the one they tell me to use, my computer just beeps. |

| You have to be root to edit and save the xorg.conf file, and the write/quit command is: :wq
