I Need HELP in installing ArchLinux
Hi there !
I've an ArchLinux CD to boot from.
When I do so, I'm asked to choose from a list of boot options.
The prompt is 'boot: '.
I enter the option 'arch' which is for the usual install process.
Things look good for a moment when I see something loading. It's like:-
vmlinux.............................
......................................
......................................
BUT then I've a message that says:-
'kernel-panic: ...<something>... kill idle process' at the end of a whole page of some codes.
Then, as obvious, everything hangs to infinity.
What to do ? HELP !

Try downloading/reburning the disc? Your message isn't very specific, but my guess would be that something was put onto the disc incorrectly. For more help, try being more specific with your problem.

You might want to print out the Beginners Guide and follow it. Also, check the Arch Forums for news regarding a new RC release. Using it might help you to get it all installed and past this sticking point.

try to burn the ISO file with slower speed, also you have to check MD5SUM before burning.
