    No ... look here. With Arch you install a base system and then install whatever you want after. In my case I don't use KDE or Gnome with Arch any more, I use IceWM so Gnome and KDE would be no use to me ... the other thing to keep in mind with Arch is that it's a rolling release so a pacman -Syu brings the system up to date, packages on the install CD will soon be out of date.
