    Upgrade pacman and sync db failed

    Seems to be not my day today Attempt to sync with a repository, running pacman -Syu, then get the following:
    :: The following packages should be upgraded first :
    :: Do you want to cancel the current operation
    :: and upgrade these packages now? [Y/n]

    I type Y and - as result:

    resolving dependencies...
    looking for inter-conflicts...
    error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
    :: package-query: requires pacman<3.6

    my pacman is of version 3.5:
    #pacman -V
    Pacman v3.5.4 - libalpm v6.0.4

    how can I install the latest version of pacman and/or do sync and upgrade of my system?
