You now have windows in the mbr so you can configure EasyBCD to boot Arch.
If you notice you have Grub Legacy installed in the boot sector of sda5 and sda7 and it looks for a stage2 file at sector 433130829 which is on sda7. If you then look at the boot files under sda5 and sda7 you see only grub.cfg and fstab. Grub.cfg is Grub2. I don't see any menu.lst for Grub Legacy. You need to use EasyBCD or you need to install Grub Legacy to the mbr pointing to either sda5 or sda7 or you need to install Grub2 to the mbr pointing to either sda5 or sda7. You can use the commands from earlier posts to do this. I'm not really sure what you want to do? You need to either have one of the Grub versions on the mbr pointing to sda5 or sda7.

Dude, thankyou verymuch for your support.
Actually, I tried a lot and finally decided to reinstall arch... and gave a last try and got a hit!!!!!!!
No matter what I do,root partition contains grub2 and mbr contains grub-legacy and when i boot, i get the grub> prompt.
I booted with the live cd, chrooted to the existing system at /dev/sda7 (where root resides) and issued the command grub-mkconfig and then installed it.
here are the commands I did:
    Code:
    mkdir /mnt/anish
    mount /dev/sda7 /mnt/anish
    chroot /mnt/anish

    grub-mkconfig
now, some codes ran and something happened. and then i finally gave the command,
    Code:
    grub-install /dev/sda
and rebooted... and voila!!!! I got the grub2 menu with arch and windows listed!!!!

I am now happily posting this message from my arch

Thanks again for your support fellas,
    Anish.
