    problems with graphical interface

    hi everybody,

im new in this website and to linux in general. All my friends advised me to take arch linux /Antergos, but in both cases i have problems with the boot or with graphic interface. With antergos i can't go further than the login screen and with Arch startx give me "waiting for x server to accepting connection". So i think this is just a problem with the drivers of my graphic card (gtx 970m on a asus rog), but i don't know what to do ?

Thank you and sorry for my bad english

There is a plethora of Linux distros that do all configuration for you. If you chose Arch then you should also be able to do basic Linux troubleshooting and you should be capable of reading Arch wiki (which is excellent, BTW).

With Antergos or Manjaro what do you get when you try to use them as live distros.

Arch does not install X, that is installed separately.

so , i try the minimal antergos image but i have the same problems :

first i try the normal way to install antergos and i got this , same error message (i can't send URL for pictures " waiting for x server to begin accepting connections .. .. .. .. .."

and i try to change few settings like the resolution of the screen and i got a error message like i had already with arch linux when i try to launch the dektop environement

(intel : waited 2020ms for i915.ko driver to load
nod prod: ERROR: could not insert 'i915' : no such device
fatal server error: (EE) no screens found(EE)
terminated wuth error (1). Closing log file) my computer is in a loop with these message

so i am in the same point then before

Did you add this to the grub entry?
    Code:
    systemd.unit=multi-user.target
If you didn't, press "e" when you get to grub. Then add that.

Once you get to a commandline, enter these commands.
    Code:
    pacman -Syy nvidia nvidia-utils nvidia-libgl
    pacman -Rccn xf86-video-nouveau
    nvidia-xconfig
If that doesn't work, you will need to get a different live OS, and get a listing of your hardware.
    sudo lshw

Load it up to pastebin.com You can post the url if you take the http/www off of it
It will be easier to help.

    this is strange.
i915 is in the kernel, so it should be available.
but it is not the right driver for your nvidia card.

    please post the output of
    Code:
    lspci -k | grep -iEA5 'vga|3d'
