    problem with arch 0.4

    I got arch installed and when i reboot it comes up to the screen that says

    Arch Linux 0.4 (Dragon) (myhost) (vc/1)

    myhost login:


    now it says to enter root as user and enter no password, but nothing happens when I do this, whats the problem

    Hi, flamesfan - I'm not really sure what the problem might be, but 0.4 is almost 4 years old now. Are you sure you wouldn't rather install something a little newer? An OS that's 4 years old might not even work with your hardware, unless of course you are using older hardware.

    yeah actually it's an old laptop, this was only version I could find on the arch webpage

    yeah i just found it after reading you post, having problem with configuring bootloader, got in the config screen and couldn't find a way to save and or exit
