Help installing a .run file/setting up printer.
I recently got an HP Photosmart C3100 All-in-One series printer. I set it with the "hpijs" driver, using the Gnome printer utility. Printing works great with this driver, but scanning doesn't.
I'd like to upgrade to the "hplip" driver, but am having difficulty doing so.
I downloaded and ran the .run file from the website. Everything seemed to go fine... it found that I'm running Ubuntu 6.10, it looked for missing dependencies etc. The problem is that it seems to freeze when installing the dependencies. Anyone know of a solution to this?10" Sony Vaio SRX99P 850MHz P3-M 256MB RAM 20GB HD : ArchLinux

You're using Ubuntu which is .deb based and asking on Arch forum?
What repository are you using?
Archlinux won't know what to do with .deb files.
Or, am I totally missing what you are asking

Whoops. Went to the Arch section out of habit, lol. I'm gonna re-post this in the Ubuntu section...
