version to download
Hi friends! I want to install Arch because my desktop is very old and I have heard Arch is a very lightweight linux distro, but in the download website (Index of /mirror/archlinux/iso/2011.08.19) appears three files: one ends with "core-dual.iso" another ends with "core-i686.iso and another ends with x86_64.iso".
What are the differences between them?? Which would you recommend me??
Thank you very much!!!
I'm not sure what the core-dual iso is, but the core-i686 iso file is for 32-bit machines (which will also work on 64-bit machines) while the x86-64 iso is for 64-bit machines. If you have a fast Internet connection, I'd recommend using the appropriate netinstall iso for your machine.
Hope you have fun with Arch! :)
