Icon HOWTO

Hi

can any body give me a linke about how can we create a nice icon like KDE's icon. i mean i want to create some icon just like crystal icon with the same technic

It's not that easy, I've found that KDE icons are complex vector designs with lots of paths and shapes. You should look at some tutorials on vectors. Assuming you already Googled for the tutorial I would say that there are no specific tutorials for KDE icons at all.
I would suggest getting the icons in SVG format and then disassembling it using Inkscape to take a look on how they're made

Art is art. Despite the circular reasoning, you've got to be an artist to create art. Otherwise, I suppose a person could use Blender3D to create some stuff. Even then, you've got to be artsy with the program.

Here's an Adobe Photoshop tutorial for creating icons:

Create Icons tutorial - Adobe Photoshop Buttons

You should be able to apply the same principals to Gimp or some other Linux graphics app and create nice icons.

icons « the inkscape tutorials blog — a big list of cool inkscape tutorials…

there should be cool tutorials exploring inkscape, the free vector drawing software.
