Angry Crying for units in GIMP

Well, in version 2.2 there was a possibility with the Cropping tool to select a rectangle in millimeters. With 2.3 it's gone. Only pixels, am I wrong?. Why, for God's sake????
Its now as stupid as in Photoshop.

I think you might be mistaken. When I look at the cropping options available, I do see pixels as the default option, but clicking on the up/down arrows beside the px gives me lots of options for other position and size measurements, including mm.

Are you using version GIMP 2.3.14?
Because there are only "Fix" buttons beside the dimensions. Probably this is a developing version. Anyway, I found out another solution: at the bottom of active picture, there's an info line showing the sizes of the actual selection, and here I can select the units. It's not as good as I could do it with panel, but I hope in 2.4 they've fixed this bug. Unfortunately I'll have to move to Mandriva 2008 to use it properly and without losing my system's stability.

No, I'm using version 2.4.3

That must be the difference.

Why, I've installed Ubuntu Studio 7.10 today, together with Gimp 2.4.0-rc3, and there's the same problem: no unit selection with cropping tool!
I don't know where to download from the 2.3.4 for Ubuntu or Mandriva.

Don't know if it will help any, but you can get the Gimp 2.4.2 deb file here:

Ubuntu Software Search
