Will dual ATI cards work?

Hello all. I hope someone can help shed some light on this subject for me. I have a box running Ubuntu 8.04 64bit and a windows box which, unfortunately, I need to invest in because of my need for AurtoCad and Sketchup.
My question is, would it work to put 2 ati fire gl cards (one already there, one from winbox) in my linux box and will it improve my performance? I only use one monitor and my motherboard has the room for both cards. The graphic programs I use most heavily are Blender, GIMP and possibly a ray tracer all for architectural rendering. Thanks!

Off topic: I know this isn't what you were asking, but:
Sketchup 7 seems to be working well on Wine 1.1.11 and
later -- at least on Nvidia. Could you test it and let us know
how well it works for you on recent Wine? Maybe you won't need
Windows for Sketchup after all.
See GoogleSketchup - The Official Wine Wiki for more info
and how to report problems. (Or just email them to me, dank at kegel.com.)
