Games using C++

i'm learning C++ with aim to going into games. However where should I go from here? I would like something to manage 2D before i move onto 3D. So? openGL? DirectX? were do you doods suggest I go next?

DirectX only works in Microsoft Windows, so I definitely wouldn't recommend trying to develop in that for Linux.

TechieMoe is right. I don't know much about programming, but I do know that DirectX is a member of what I like to call the Windows Only Club.
