Our client, a well known investment firm in Wall Street, New York, is looking for an engineer to help in optimization their customized grid-style applications at the file system level. The ideal candidate should have 5 to 10 years of experience in deploying and integrating filesystem technologies, both from the standalone host perspective and within the scale of a large enterprise; Understanding of the issues arising within distributed and cluster filesystems when providing data for thousands of nodes; Understanding of implementing high-availability and replication solutions for business continuity purposes within distributed filesystems; Ability to evaluate existing and emerging filesystems from storage through to the application; in-depth knowledge of some of the technologies: distributed filesystems such as NFSv3, NFSv4, AFS, DFS, CIFS, Acopia; and cluster filesystems such as Lustre, Sistina, GPFS; local filesystems such as ufs, ext3, vxfs, jfs, reiserfs, and zfs.

SALARY: up to $140K base, total comp $200K-$250K Annual
