Are you using the Modem on Hold feature? I really need this since I have only one telephone line. I have Zoom internal on my Win98 machine and it has the Modem on Hold feature and it works just great.

I have been looking for a new modem for my Linux machine but I have had a hard time finding one that is both Linux supported and have all of the features available Win98.

Do you have any other comments on this modem?

stathisx and valan are sooo right. Don't use a USB modem, too many headaches. Most any external serial modem will get the job done. External modems also will give better performance and stability under Linux as well as other OS's. I personally prefer the Actiontec 56k V92. It works great right out of the box, and you won't have to crack a terminal to get it going unless you're using wvdial...

The BestData v92 is also a good choice.
