Hello from wisconsin
Hey guys,
My name is Jeff and im a husband and a father from Wisconsin. Im been interested in trying out some Linux distros for a while, but scared it maybe a downgrade from what i already have. I currently use my computer for college and personal reasons. I have tried out Ubuntu's live CD and was very dissatisfied with it, any ideas what distro would be good for my system? Hello Wisconsin!
On a pretty high end system like yours, you should not have real trouble getting Linux to work.
Which distro is 'best'?
Linux != Windows

Welcome to the Forums. I hope you find the distro you want in time. We have a kind of informal policy of not recommending specific distros, but Mepis looks pretty good.

Seems like a good community here and i plan to stay here and bother you guys with my noobish questions when i do decide which distro to choose.
