Well my first job was fueling helicopters for a company called Bristow. It was a fun job.

My first IT job was working in a school's Computer Lab. It was a small school and I was the IT department, so I did whatever I wanted.

At present I work for a software company in their engineering err services department. Its fun yet challenging. I really enjoy my job.

MY first job was a mechanic at a small engine repair shop, (lawnmowers, chainsaws, etc) I was only 12 Yrs old at the time. I gotta tell ya, being 12 yrs old and working with spinning blades, chainsaws and GO-Karts was pretty exciting stuff, because you had to test the equipment before the customer could come get it.
After that, I spent a lot of time in construction work, building McDonalds, Burger King, Taco Bell. We built 95% of them in Texas from 1985-2000
I have never worked in any IT field, besides fixing stuff for everyone I know.

And from what I can tell, your business was booming. There's rarely a city or town in my part of Texas that doesn't have at least one, two, or all three.

My first real job (I used to mow people's lawns, umpire Little League baseball and have a paper route) was selling electronics at an Office Max. That's where I first really started learning about computers. Some of the other salesman there were very knowledgeable and I was always picking their brains. Still, I voluntarily moved to the stock room after about 6 months. The commission for salesman was minimal. You only got it if you sold "Max Assurance" (which is basically an extended warranty plan) and even then you only got 10% of however much the Max Assurance cost, which was usually about 3 or 4 bucks.

But I really liked that job. I got along really well with the people I worked with and stayed there for almost 2 years (which is an eternity when you're in high school). I definitely had some bad jobs after it that made me miss it.

My first IT job is the one I currently have, a Systems Engineer for a government contractor. Eventually, I'd like to drift towards the Information/Network Security area which is why I'm now working on my Masters in InfoSec.

My first job was at McDonalds. I never had any sort of IT job. Currently, I'm in the Army and working towards a degree in Computer Science.
