    Post Looking for a new DVD burner

    My dvd burner drive is broken...sort of. It has a lot of trouble reading cd/dvd's, i have to keep taking the disk out and putting it back in again. After about 12 tries it sometimes reads it correctly.

    So basically i want a new drive. I've been looking on newegg.com and have noticed a lot of drives to choose from. So i need help deciding.

    I've also been looking at those "light scribe" drives, they seem interesting and useful to me. Could someone please tell me more about them and how long they will work for - ive heard they have a short life.

    And of coarse it needs to be compatible with linux

    Thanks
    It is forbidden to kill; therefore all murderers are punished unless they kill in large numbers and to the sound of trumpets.

    Linux.com :: LightScribe disc labelers for GNU/Linux
    found that link after a quick google.
    Here's why Linux is easier than Windows:
    Package Managers! Apt-Get and Portage (among others) allow users to install programs MUCH easier than Windows can.
    Hardware Drivers. In SuSE, ALL the hardware is detected and installed automatically! How is this harder than Windows' constant disc changing and rebooting?
