weird place to place windows help huh?
well i need windows help...
So i just noticed i was very low on partition space for windows and i needed to repartition my drive. so i put in the gparted live cd and repartitioned my drive. it worked fine until... i tryed to reboot into windows... now whenever i boot into windows it goes until it gets to the login screen but only shows the logo...
i have tried to do safe mode, tryed the last working settings, tryed basically everything. i tryed to do the cd repair thing but when it asked for my password i typed it in and it didnt accept it, i also tryed my username and my name... nothing worked...
PLZ SOMEONE HELP!!!

If you formatted your drive and put Ubuntu on it, somebody might be able to help.

Boot up with the xp cd, go through the steps like you are going to do a fresh install.
But before you actually install you will see an option to do an upgrade.
That should fix your xp installation.
then you will have to go back and replace grub with your linux installation cd.How to know if you are a geek.

Are you sure he's running XP? I've heard that Vista doesn't like partitions that it doesn't create .

The steps I described should work for both XP and Vista.
And Vista, in my experience sees Linux partitions the same as XP does as "healthy".
It can't read anything there however.How to know if you are a geek.

Unlike XP, Vista keeps two copies of Partition Table and if one creates new partition using any third party Partitioning Tool, Vista starts complaining. Most of the time, Vista doesn't boot up after that.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
