It is actually only like 12% of the annual revenue so I am sure they will survive.

The bigger deal is that they may finally be forced to improve interoperbility (spell?) with everything else.

Carlo Piana, FSFE's legal counsel: "FSFE and the Samba Team welcome
the decision of the court. This is a milestone for competition. It
puts an end to the notion that deliberate obfuscation of standards and
designed lock-in is an acceptable business model and forces Microsoft
back into competing on the grounds of software technology."

Little by little we could stop that monopoly. I hope MS will loose in ISO on voting on his broken standard OOXML...

NoOOXML: OOXML scrapes through, final vote Feb 2008

Welcome to the forums! Yeah I posted about that in another thread. Europe has strict laws on monopoly.

The ISO has already voted on OOXML"no, unless...". MS has until February 2008 to incorporate all nessecairy (sp?) changes.

The nice thing about this board is that everyone is nuanced in their opinion and don't let this go into a flame war on either MS or amongst ourselves. So let's not discuss if they are gonna make it. I think we should leave it at: there is cause for doubt
