    Google

We all know Google. Do we all know Google?
I bet that not even 10% of the users know all the commands from Google..
Since it can do much more then just do easy search tasks.
It can do much and much more.. Do you know the Converter? Try "4 cm to inch"
But it also has advance search strings.. like "inurl:" you can use this to look for a typical file. For example I was looking for a working like of snort1.wbm and I found it thanks to Googles inurl function.

Well, I want to make people know more about good and usefull (search) funtions from google.
Drop here as much as you know and we might increase that 10% one day.

(Note: NOT all the functions are in the Google Documentation.)

    Cheers,
    -Robin

I've always been a fan of the "define:" functionality. Just type "define:" and then a word you need a definition for and you'll get a definition from a variety of sources. This way, you can compare the results you get from different sources instead of just going by what one source gives you.

    Boolean 'OR'
    For example:
cabbages OR carrots OR lettuce OR mushrooms

    Boolean 'AND'
cabbages carrots lettuce mushrooms (AND is 'implied')

    Force 'stop-words'
    +to +be +or +not

    Exclude useless search terms
    -peas - grapes -seeds

Force an exact match on a phrase
"It's all over now baby blue" lyrics Dylan

    Search on synomyns
    ~cats ~dogs ~hogs ~possums

    Search within a site
    "Farewell Angelina" site:bobdylan.com

Now try combining all of those.
