trying to decide what to buy. any suggestions?
hi i am interested in buying a new laptop and plan on running linux on it. most likely a ubuntu-based or gentoo-based distribution on it. i would really like a small laptops like those of fujitsu ( example: http://store.shopfujitsu.com/fpc/Eco...o?series=P1610 ).
i'm not so much interested in the stylus or the revolving screen part, but just the tiny size and nice screen. my main objectives are to have it small, decent video card, and above-average speed. i don't know much about hardware so i was wondering if anyone knew a good laptop that is like this?

Try the new EEE PC from Asus. It's coming out soon and won't break the bank.
Operating System: GNU Emacs

I get all my parts from Newegg, so I'd check there:

My fault... I missed the quote in your second post above referring to the ASUS item.

If you're not planning on dual boot with Vista, bear with me. Acus and HP have given me their official 'money back for MS license' policy, today. Hot of the press

I was planning on posting about it, but I'll need to translate it. If you want, you can do us all a favor and ask the manufacturers yourself by email. And since you haven't decided yet, ask all of the ones you are thinking about.
I never asked Fijutsu, I'll do that tomorrow. But I don't expect answer until next week. Can't tell an OS by it's GUI
