    i wrote my congressman about software patents only to have him write me a letter stating he wasn't on that committee. Lot good a letter does anymore.

    I wrote a letter to my MEP, and I got a letter back stating that they would definitely not pursue software patents.

    That was Charlie McCreevy, the guy who was initially pushing for them in Europe. Nice to see a change, or at least accept defeat if that's what it was.
