    Portage is my favorite.
    But I also like pac-man.
    Apt-get is good too.

    p.s. added "Other" option.

It would have been nice to have an "All of the above/Don't Care" option, since I don't really pay attention to what package format a distro uses. If it works, it works. I've played with Apt distros, RPM distros, source distros and everything in between (PBI for instance). Most of them are to a point of maturity where it really doesn't matter. They're all fairly easy to manage.

I've been using Arch for almost three years now, so I guess I prefer Pacman.

Another vote for pacman: simple, powerful and fast. I like apt-get too but I feel like it overcomplicates some functions. There's too many apt-*'s. yum's good but should be re-written in C and rpm's a little bloated. I've never used portage so I can't speak to it.

But for the most part, like TechieMoe, I just want it to work.

I'm a fan of Portage, probably mostly because I use Gentoo, and I never did manage to get a usable Debian system (that's what I guess for trying Woody, I guess). But Apt would work just as well, I suspect. It just needs to be a powerful, easy-to-use-and-manage system.

I will say that I despise yum. It's slow, it's hard to use, it's hard to configure, and out-of-the-box, it's basically useless. At least, this is my experience with my friends who tried Fedora Core who asked me for help.
