I posted this message in this forum that is supposed to be "where Linux users come for answers". What a joke

"One of the best distros around" is really very subjective. I've tried PCLinuxOS so many times that I've lost count and have never liked it at all. Just because it's rising on the DistroWatch.com chart doesn't mean anything either, other than lots of people are clicking on it. That listing is pretty much useless when it comes to best.

Core Wizard, the board administrator, decides what distro forums will occupy the board, so apparently he's decided that a PCLinuxOS forum is not needed at the moment. I agree with that decision since we don't get all that many threads about the distro.

I am aware that lots of PCLinuxOS users are making a concerted effort to increase the popularity of the distro, but even that doesn't make it the best.

That said, I'll lock this thread because it appears to be just another advertisement for the distro more than anything else. If you should have any other questions, don't hesitate to post them.

For my trouble I got flamed and the thread locked by OZAR. I wasn't advertising just asking a question. Apparently OZAR has tried the install "so many times he has lost count (can you count 1..2..3..4..5..6 etc) and has not been able to get PCLunixOS working. It sounds to me like OZAR is taking it on himself to flame a distro he does not like
But that's OK there are quite a few good forums out there. and I'm outa here

I've worked with Ozar on this forum for years now and I've been on many others before this one. Ozar is a damned fine moderator, one of the best I've seen. He is fair to a fault and always polite. You'll be hard pressed to find many here who agree with your position.

The forum administrators, moderators, and trusted penguins, all take part in locking any threads that they think need to be locked. If you don't like that, please find a board that does things your way, or better yet, start your own.

BTW - I do find it odd that your post was so unimportant to you that you let a full month go by without following up on it. Just one more good indicator that it was indeed nothing more than spam. Believe me when I tell you that all the board admins here know how to handle spam and spammers.

Throwing a hissy-fit because you didn't get a specific PCLinuxOS forum will do you no good, and you can find plenty of PCLinuxOS threads on these forums that I've not locked.
