Project David
Well I was searching around the web for a better alternative to wine, -and figured that it would have to include proprietary code to achieve better compatibility- and I found some news on something called Project David being developed by a company in the Philippines called SpecOPs Labs. This project was supposed to be a program that ran on top of Linux and allowed to run Windows based programs. After a bit of looking around, I saw that the website was down, which probably implies that the project went down although I also read about IBM giving funding to the company. You can find out more information by reading this wikipedia article: Project David - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia or through Google.
Now that I'm done rambling I'd like to ask if this was even possible. I know back in 2004 when this project was announced to the public, that a lot of people said it couldn't be done or that it was just a repackaged version of wine. Is this even really possible? I read that they released a david version .01 and that it was 25% complete as a project.
I ask one more time; Is it really possible?
