    Windows: FreeAgent Help!

This may seem random, but i need everybody's help with this one.
I have a 500gb seagate freeagent desktop external hard drive. Its been great but suddenly has stopped working, its not getting enough power to fully boot up and start working. Windows is not detecting it. I've spoken to somebody i know that worked with these before they were released to the public.
The EHD keeps beeping which is a sign of lack of power. This person directed me to the correct location in the registery and i had to delete some freeagent things in there. He said it should work after this if not then try it on other machines. If not then recover the data from it and contact seagate.
Only problem is, i wouldn't mind waiting, but sods laws is a real sod, i have A2 Media Studies coursework that has to be finished tomorrow. Its on that drive.... Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance.

If it's really just a lack of power, replace the power supply..... The beep code should tell you if that's really what it is.

If its a power thing you can get a Electicpulse to Sound device (forgot the name) and check it out were the power fails.
