What’s on your software wish list?
Hi All - A co-worker friend of mine is opening a Linux and Mac specific software development house as a side business. He’s a brilliant programmer but shy about asking for ideas from user groups. I thought I’d help out. That said; if you have a minute, please share your wish list for Linux apps you’d like to see (that don’t already have a good solution.)
He’s not looking to take on Microsoft, but he can code anything from office productivity suites to board games. If you’ve ever wished there was an app that could do "this or that" on Linux – please let us know. He plans to do several for free to get his name out there and get feedback.
Thanks so much for time.

I think making Reconstructor for the new Ubuntu would be nice.
Then again, I'd like a suite of casino games for Linux: blackjack, poker, craps, roulette, etc..
As long as the mathematics and probability are good, I wouldn't mind such a suite.
Combine that with online play, and you've got an awesome Linux casino suite.
I seem unable to find such a casino suite for Linux.

I would like to see a really good pinball game for Linux.

There's only one thing I'm still missing badly under Linux: a proper replacement for the former Macromedia Flash. F4l seems to be a dead project.
If you need a CD/DVD catalogizer, give a try to my program:
