Thumbs up MEPIS talk: I like it very much.

    Hello.

If something is outstanding good, than you would maybe like to let others know about it:

To start off, I will drop just a few keywords (a unusual way to start commenting something, but I like experimenting):

Computing, voice, musical (voice), harmonious, art, artist, quality, outstanding, interview, talk.

Well, lets go to the facts:

I listened a second time to MEPIS talk 4, from the MEPIS (Linux distro) website.

The first time, I was highly enjoying it, and learning about the Mepis operating systems. Very pleasant. Never dry, or boring.

The second time, I had some background music running: Jazz music, a little old fashion stile jazz, if you will.

Again, and this time with all my seven senses, I listen to the interview, hearing Warren Woodford speak.

What I wasn't conscious about, the first time I listened, is the fact that Warren has a very nice, musical, melodious voice. The background music, gave it a nice underlining, a layer.

I realized, that he was actually singing. Not only speaking, and it is music in my ears.

You would maybe think, that computer engineers, where a bit monotone, or not such interesting personalities.

I realize, he is a artist. I realize, that everything is about harmony, just as I have in mind, how it would be in a ideal world, for a ideal computer-work place.

I am very critical. Voices that only appear at a second listening, but then the more, as a musical voice, where you can hear so many undertones, and refinement, that is the real musical voice, the understated musical voice.
Not the one, that makes you feel, you are in concert room.

So what do both: A man, that has a musical voice, talking and explaining about how he builds operations systems, to do with each other?

Are both facts together, one interesting fact?: Yes.

For me, it is pretty clear, that a operation system has to be as harmonious as possible, like a orchestra, or any other team.

I maybe could imagine that musicians where such people. But others? Yes, maybe other artists.

So we have a computer engineer, that appears more to be a artist, a musician.

Hearing him speaking about his operations system, with the same love, feelings, art, and harmonious sense, etc., like a musician speaks about his own composition, about his created symphony, or piece.

Warren Woodford speaks about his harmonious composition, his symphony, composed from out of well chosen, and well balanced components.

It is always about, how the components work together in the composition, and how he achieved good results, and why he did what he did, ect.
Explaining how that specific operation system got to be, what it is now.

Computing, is a art: Now I know it.

    Hi !

You should start discussion threads in Coffee Lounge Forum only.

    Thread moved to Coffee Lounge.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

Breaking the rules: Well only sometimes. Keep an eye shut!

    Yes, you are right.

I wasn't adhering strictly to the rules, hoping it might be able to stay there, as my feelings said, it might be actually nevertheless, the better place.

Of course, there are more readers in the Coffee Lounge, and so I am not unhappy therefor.

I am not always so keen, on obeying to rules and regulations: There are far too many, I think. You got to be able to breath, sometimes, and if you can't, just step over the line a little. Some people even make a sport out of finding and using all the gray areas. It would be too much work for me. I just sometimes break the rules. That's it. Thank you, for your understanding, and have fun here.

    Kind regards,
    Alexander
