To blow this thread completely off topic, 'lol' is an actual Dutch word, and it means 'fun' or 'joy'... So for a long time I believed that the Internet culture adopted this Dutch word. Ya know, a bit like the German über. It made a lot of sense to me


And I still can't believe it's a coincidence... :-p

I live in Southern California, USA
I am in my mid 30's
I am a Reliability Test Engineer for car audio manufacturer. I write code for test programs that run test racks in a reliability lab. VB .NET is my main program environment, but learning C# for the heck of it. One of those things, I learned C in school, but all the jobs I got that had programming always used a form of Visual Basic.

C# is actually quite a neat language. You might find it a lot better than most of the other .Net ones and in some respects Java too (like GC, generics etc).
