Witha prgorammer I ment a Kernel-Level programmer. (Assembler or P-ROM) but I dont want to have this discussion with you this might turn into Flaming + Trolling from both sides so I think its best to just keep it at this point and I let you be happy with Topo. And you let me be happy with not believing in it.
Well I have done quite a bit of low-level programming. I worked for Advanced RISC Machines in Los Gatos, Ca for several years, you may know them as ARM. I worked on several embedded operating systems as well as a full suite of embedded development tools for the ARM7TDMI processor. So let's just say i've been neck deep in the stuff.

Anyways, yes it is best to just drop it. I don't like to fight. But when you get two programmers set on opposite ideas and put them in the same room you will get a little fire. It's inevitable.

Anyways, I haven't tried the OS yet. The laptop I was going to install it on is having problems with it's DVD/CD drive so I can't load it with a disk. I am going to install it from the hard drive when I get some spare time as I think it is a more lengthy operation to do it that way.

I will definitely let you know when it's up and running. I will see about debugging the kernel and try to see what it does during runtime. Not sure what software is available for windows to do this. There was a real nice one pre OS X for the Macintosh that I used to use but I forget the name.

Good we are on the same side of that. Id not like to see us fighting (we need our powers to Fight Symantec and Microsoft )
Anyhow I've downloaded it. What I saw from the Screenys It really looked like Qemu. So I am going to find out if it is or not
In any case I hope you'll enjoy Topologilinux and Ill just Enjoy Gentoo and Arch

    Cheers,
    Robin
