Yup, they have the source code and everything. I guess its the cracking they have to do before the hacking

If you already have the source code its really not that hard.
All you need to do then Is rewrite the Code. and then put it on there. (I guess they use a HardDrive + CustomBIOS PROM?)

yea they have the source, there is just some wall they have to get pass, like some sort of encryption that no one can seem to crack. Its really complicated, and i barely know what i'm talking about.lol, but the link i posted on page one will show you the hacking thread and what they need cracked or hacked. if you want, you can take a look, and then probably help them with some suggestions

    Linux-Based Ebook Reader

Hey everyone. I too will own an archos 605 wifi and am desperately hoping some generous hacker will find a way to put linux based apps on te archos. I am personally hoping for a way to put an ebook reader on the archos, so as to get wikipedia and a dictionary on my PMP. If anyone thinks they can do that, please check out the aforementioned thread on archos forums and see what they already have done.

I've done a ton of work with embedded linux. I'm actually willing to buy one to figure this out... For me, I just want to see the internals before I buy it -- I don't mind having to use jtag to reprogram it, but I am not sure the port is accessable. If brave sole takes theirs apart and takes pictures of it, I may go out and purchase one.

If anyone has taken pictures of the internals of it - post a link.
