university linux lab

I am pleased my university has an all linux lab. I will be starting next semester.

The distribution in use is Fedora Linux. I normally use red hat at home.

I am very excited about the lab ,

We don't have a linux lab at my school, but for whatever reason we have an all mac lab (wtf? why spend the money when only 10 people use it?). The only school owned linux machines here are the servers and two workstations.

Ah well at my Work we have Linux. Since I am the System Maintainer
I can pick what is were and why. And at school I have a LiveUSB distro. So everybody has WindowsXP except me ^^ at school they are ok with it as long as I can run everything...
Well I was not able to run some lame program that has a Point-and-Click interface for 'coding' CSS.. So I just said to my teacher.. watch.
I got a Terminal up. I started emacs. And I made him crazy..

He actually said: "wow, Can you code CSS from a terminal. You should teach this class."

But ok, he also says: "C# within Dot-Net 2 is the most power full language ever.. It is even better then C++."

And then you think.. what kind of moron school are you on?
Well its average in the Netherlands since my mate is at a school were his teacher learns them do do "void main" within C++

So, kinda the Netherlands computer schools are fcked up

Thats why I move to the United Kingdom to do the University there when I have the money.

Cheers,
Robin

Wow... that statement at my college (or high school even) would have probably caused a riot between the students and the teacher.
