I'm experimenting with a couple of ad placements. One is on the Sidux rant; the other is on the Pioneer rant. Let me know what kinds of ads are showing up and whether you find them objectionable. You have the option in AdSense to block certain advertisers, but they don't tell you which ones you'll get until you see them on the page.

Google doesn't allow any pornographic or otherwise objectionable ads in their AdSense program, so if you see any of those please let me know. I'll report them to Google.

do it because if you are going to get more traffic you might want to ease the costs of the site in some fashion.

Well, it's been nearly a week and I've had a couple thousand hits to the site. I've posted a couple new rants and managed to make just about enough money for a drink from Starbucks.

We'll see how next week fares.

The ads I've seen on your site don't look too crass, but Windows ads look a bit rum on a Linux based site. I don't find them offensive because I can just ignore them, but it's your site...

You've seen Windows ads? The next time you see one could you give me the URL? I can block them.

I see no problem with the ads in your website and will continue reading you. I don't believe that you are a sell-out but, in case you deem it necessary, you might place a disclaimer that says "This website is for entertainment and as I need to pay for it I have allowed some ads to appear on it. However, I do not endorse or claim any responsibility for any products that might be advertised on my website"

Keep it up Moe!

Here's one from your recent DSL rant.

First month is over and I managed $13. If I can keep that up (averaged about 2-4 clicks a day) I'll have my goal in about eight or nine months.

Wow, congrats! That's not too bad. I know all too well the frustration in deciding whether or not to do the advertisement thing.
