Where do you use Linux?
Hi,
I’m doing some research for my technical report, and would like to support my paper with statistics.
Well, my paper is about the Linux and being feasible for enterprise use in companies and establishments.
The third option is to be chosen when you have linux on your laptop.
Thanks in advance.Last edited by Menno Man; 12-16-2007 at 09:01 PM. Reason: more details

I use it at home only.
Occasionaly I will have to work on a clients computer, and I will use a live linux cd to backup there data. How to know if you are a geek.
when you respond to "get a life!" with "what's the URL?"

I use Linux at home mostly. My work uses Linux in their product, but only a few of the tech guys use the Linux desktop/server. At my school I've installed Linux on a computer that was laying around that had a corrupt windows install, but the hardware is fine (and the funny thing is is that everyone, even the non technical people, use it and don't even know the difference.).

Linux is user friendly, not idiot friendly.

I have a home office I work from, and I bring my laptop when I meet cliënts. It's all Linux.
It's good to have a secure system, as some of these cliënts systems I share data with ... :o oh boy! Can't tell an OS by it's GUI

Well, I'm unemployed... so I guess I can't really use it at work. I did manage to switch some computers at my former school to Linux, though, and am currently wooing the local library into switching to Linux. The local branch from where I used to live also had Linux on their computers, but I can't get ahold of anyone to say what distro they used et alii.
Viva la resistance!

Home only. I don't have the luxury to use it at work, where our machines are fairly tightly controlled as to what software goes on them. Government job, and whatnot. Several of our tools (despite efforts by IBM) still don't work in Linux, so that probably contributes.

I'm using it at my home, and I'm proud to have the only Linux driven PC at my work in an elementary school. I'm using it for demonstration purposes like SWF - animations, Geogebra, KmPlot etc.

I am using it at home, at my work and everywhere I am going.

Since I have so much trouble to admin. the laptop of my wife with
this winthing on it, I am VERY happy to be not dependent on any
other OS.

Have been using it at home for quite a while now (since Redhat 9), and have recently converted to Linux at work.
Since Skype has been good enough to release a beta version that allows me to have video chats on linux, I only boot into Windows for two reasons;
1/ To allow me to use my nice new photo printer (hopefully linux drivers will be available soon).
2/ To watch stuff on abc.com, netflix, etc.Registered Linux user #388328 || Registered LFS user #15880
