    RHCE exam cost?

    Hi,
What is the cost of RHCE exam in india?
Is the course/training mandatory if we have to take RHCE exam?
What is the process of registering for exam? Should we buy any exam voucher?

I prefer taking exam without the training. Your response is highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Preparation for RHCE

I am planning to prepare for RHCE exam to leverage my knowledge and expertise in linux. I am an intermediate linux user with no administration experience. I am planning to prepare for the exam in 2008 and take the exam early(Jan-Mar) in 2009.

I know it will be really challenging to prepare for RHCE without any administration experience, but that challenge makes it more interesting.

I would like to hear your suggestions for preparation. Any similar previous experiences?

    Thanks in advance.

You don't have to take up the training if you do not want to (although most people would recommend you do this). I would recommend that you use the docs at the Red Hat docs site. Recommended books are
    1) RHCE Red Hat Certified Engineer Linux Study Guide by Michael Jang
2)Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 Administration Unleashed by Tammy Fox
