    fsck?

I have a drive that in windows says it is a RAW drive, yet all the files are still sitting on the hard drive. My thought is that the MTF table is screwed up, thus, not showing the partitions right. The programs i have used all show my files and the 3 partitions i have but i cannot pull the files off or fix any thing since they are all trial programs and demo. I was wondering, would doing a FSCK under, lets say knoppix (because knoppix can read raw drive), fix the mtf table. Ive already tried to run a CHKDSK and any parameter after that gives me the same error saying that chkdsk doesn't work on raw drives. I have a 500gb seagate drive partitioned into 2 equal drives and 1 lesser drive. I don't want to waste time downloading and burning a live disc if fsck won't work. any ideas?

This "raw" drive, does it have a linux file system on it?
Windows does not know how to understand linux file systems, si they will get labeled as raw or free space.

nope it only has a windows xp pro ntfs installed on it. but knoppix will read raw drives so i was thinking of getting copy of that. the only thing ive found out sofar is the files are al still there, it says it is a raw unformatted drive in windows, and the only file that it seemed to have lsot was the $usnjrnl which logs what changes have been amde to files.

Then Knoppix is definitely the way to go.
